One of the great blessings of our Deen is that it binds all of us together as one
Ummah, to love and respect each other for the sake of Allah Subhan a hoo Tala.
We must know and understand that Muslims as a group, as a community and as
one nation are held together by one basic principle, and that is to obey Allah and
seek his approval and happiness. This applies to our communities, cities, countries
and beyond, such that Muslims all across the work shall be one, to support, love
and respect each other for the sake of our Allah, Rabul Aalameen.
Allah command in Surah Al Imran, Verse 103,

“And Hold Fast , All of You together, to the Rope of Allah & do not be divided”
Dear Brothers, this Aya commands all of us who believe in Allah, the Prophet
Muhammad and Islam, to stand together and firm, by holding on to the Deen, Allah
has blessed us with, and to eliminate our differences, and love and respect each
other for the sake of Allah.
The best of relations are those that are formed for the pleasure of Allah Allah
Subhan a hoo Tala. It holds a high place in the eyes of Allah Subhan a hoo Tala
when one Muslim holds dear another Muslim, strictly for the happiness of Allah
Subhan a hoo Tala.
In Masnad e Ahmed # 182, Hazrat Abu Harrera narrates
“ Prophet P.B.U.H. said “ who ever wants to taste Iman, he shall love another
Muslim solely for the sake of Allah”.
It is common for humans to associate with other like minded humans. We are
after all social animals. However there is a difference in worldly associations and
alliances that are formed on the basis of language, culture, economics and so on.
Such worldly associations are focused on a person’s or a groups own interest or
pleasure.
However Islam, the deen of Allah brings all of us together as one Ummah and the
basis is to serve and please our Lord Allah Subhan a hoo Tala.
Therefore, in our relationships and associations with other Muslims., please
consider this very important factor. When you form a favorable relationship with
another Muslim, that already had the approval and validation from Allah Subhan a
hoo Tala. What a blessing it can be if we adopt that as a principle in our lives, that
my dealing and relation with other Muslims is to please Allah Subhan a hoo Tala. If
the happiness of Allah Subhan a hoo Tala is the guiding principle in relationships
among Muslims, then InshAllah, we will all treat each other with care and respect
as Allah wills.
I will conclude with this Hadith from Sunan Abu Daud, # 4599. Hazarat Abu Zar
Ghafari narrates that the Prophet P.B.U.H. said, “the best of actions (amal) is to
love someone and not have any enmity towards someone, for the sake of Allah”.
Please consider this in your treatment of your fellow Muslims and all other
humans.
May Allah keep us all on the path of Rasool Allah and bless all of us with his Rehma
in this world and the one after.
