Islam the DEEN of HAQQ provides a comprehensive Code of Life for all of Mankind
& for All Ages of Time. Islam is not limited to one region, one time period or to
certain people, Islam is the DEEN for All Mankind from the beginning of time to the
end, sent upon mankind by ALLAH RABULALAMEEN.
The Deen of our Father ADAM (peace be upon him) was Islam. All prophets from
NOOH to IBRAHIM to MUSA to EISA were on the Deen of Islam and were sent to
propagate Islam to their people…
Our beloved Nabi, Hazarat Muhammad sallala alaihe wasalam, completed the DEEN
for all of mankind. As the Ummah of Hazarat Muhammad sallala alaihe wasalam, it
is our responsibility to continue to spread the message of Islam to the furthest
corners of our world.
Let us take a moment to ourselves and really ask the most important of all the
questions…. I assure you my brothers that there is no other question that is more
important and vital than this and yet most of us don’t even think of it… that
questions is “
WHAT IS MY PURPOSE IN LIFE?
WHY AM I HERE AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE?

In answering this question, let us remember what our beloved prophet, the last
messenger of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad sallala alaihe wasalam, asked his Sahaba
during his khutba on Jumma tul Vida. The prophet asked his Sahaba,
“Did I convey the message”
And the Sahaba responded “Yes oh Prophet of Allah”
There in lies the answer to the question
“what is our purpose”
The purpose of every Muslim is to live our lives according to the teachings of
Islam and to propagate the message of Islam to all of Mankind.
We as the Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad sallala alaihe wasalam, have been given
the responsibility to spread the message of Islam to all of mankind.
Let me tell you my brothers, it is no small responsibility,
And let me be clear, it is not optional, it is one of the most essentials
requirements of being a Muslim.
WE MUST SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF ISLAM, NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE.

But to those of us who live in a society with Muslims and non-Muslims living side
by side, our responsibility is even greater.
Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth says in Surah Al Imran – Aya 110

You are the best of UMMAH, sent forth for the benefit of mankind. You enjoin doing
“what is right” and forbid doing “what is wrong”. And You believe in Allah.
It is clearly revealed in this Aya – what our purpose in life is. The Muslim Umma,
which includes all Muslims around the globe has been sent to benefit Mankind. As a
Muslim ask yourself, how am I benefitting others around me, especially nonMuslims
So let me start by bringing the conversation in context. As Muslims living in a
community, how do we benefit mankind? The answer is simple, we start with our
immediate surrounding. Just like the Sahaba did. When it comes to our immediate
surrounding and that is our neighbors, co workers and our friends, what bigger
benefit is there than to bring the message of Islam to them?

My dear brothers, as Muslim living in a Western Society, it is time that we
recognize our responsibility as clearly revealed by Allah Lord of all the Worlds,
and that is to convey the Hidaya to all of mankind.
I also understand and realize that it appears a task that is too big, a bridge that is
too far and a mountain to high.
I imagine you are thinking “what can I do” I am one person… Would it be an
awkward conversation to have with my boss or neighbor who is not Muslim?
Just know my brothers that when Hidaya comes to you and when in your heart you
intend take upon a task for the sake of Allah, Shaitaan, the devil, is usually not too
far behind in his efforts to sway you away from the path of HAQ, the good. One of
the tools of Shaitaan is to create doubt in your heart by making a task appear too
difficult.
No journey is ever complete without that first step, and then the next. No one ever
reaches their destination without taking the first step, and then the next one and
then the next one and know my brothers, that with every step you are one step
closer to your destination.
So coming back to the question, what can I do to fulfil my responsibility to
mankind.
Start with those who are around you.
So the next question naturally is “how do I start”
Allah makes is easy for us to fulfil our responsibilities.

Allah never puts more burden on any of his creations than what they can carry.
We can start by following one simple rule. I mind you this is just the start… the
first step, for those of us who claim that they have other responsibilities and so
on.
There is so much more than can be done and we see brothers dedicating their
lives to Dawah and truly making a difference and may Allah bless them for their
efforts. But it all starts with recognizing your purpose and then with that first
step.
Every time you are around others who are not Muslims, remind yourself that you
represent the Ummah that Allah send for their benefit. Make sure that you present
yourself as a Muslim and own your DEEN. Be proud to be a Muslim and let other
see that you are in peace being a Muslim. Islam literally means “peace”. So if we
as Muslims are not comfortable being Muslims then obviously others will not see
Islam for what is it.
Not only shall we be proud and thankful to have been blessed with Iman, as
Muslims must represent Islam in its true spirit.
To do that, you must have a character and demeanor that is exemplary and above
all others.
• Be Polite and Courteous
• Be Respectful to others
• Be Truthful be Honest
• Show Mercy to all around you

Show compassion to all around you, and I mean all. Humans, animals, and all
beings … even the earth around you.
My brothers some of the biggest populations of Muslims are in Indonesia and
Malaysia and Islam spread in those areas simply through the Muslims trades who
visited those regions to do business. But it was the mannerism and the character
of Muslims that made the local papulation accept and embrace Islam.
So the first step to fulfilling out duty to this mankind, as defined for us by Allah,
Lord of Heavens and the earth is to try to be a good Muslim. Because there is no
better Dawah than to demonstrate the Islam in its true spirit through your actions
and your treatment of those around you.
Remember my brothers, to be a good Muslim we must also be a good citizen, a
good neighbor, a good employee, and good boss, a good businessman. And the
definition of this goodness is very simple my brothers, be a good citizen, a good
neighbor, a good employee, and good boss, a good businessman by following the
methods, practices and ways of Islam while we fulfil our responsibilities in those
roles. Learn the Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad, the final messenger
of Allah and follow is as there is no better way to know the spirit of Islam then to
follow the Sunnah of RASOOLULLAH.
How many of us think of ourselves as representatives of Islam when we do
business. Do you ever imagine that what impact you have on the image of the
entire Ummah if you cheat one person, just one person.
Rest assured, if one person felt cheated by a Muslim, they will hold on to that
experience and may share it with others.

Would you rather not work towards an image where Muslims are considered by
the masses as “the honest ones, the polite ones”. It is not that hard to try to
persuade one person at a time my brothers, by letting them see what a true
Muslim believes in. The key is to practice what we believe in.
Allah our Lord, the one and only has revealed the truth of this world, the purpose
of our existence and the end result of all mankind in
Suraj Al Asr.

“ By Asar,
most certainly mankind is in loss
except those who believe & entered iman
and do good
and enjoin upon others to do good (haqq)
and enjoin upon others to be patient

My brothers, this Surah reveals what Allah expects from us and in what sequence.
Scholars of Islam have stated that there is enough Hidaya just in this one Surah of
Quran to guide us all.
This Surah reveals that we must believe in Allah and his messenger first, and then
follow the right path ourselves, and then convey the message of Hidaya to others.
That sequence must be followed in that order and in its entirety as it is the divine
guidance bestowed upon mankind from ALLAH RAB UL AALAMEEM.
Imam Muslin quotes a Hahith from Hazrat Abu Herrera who narrated that
‘whoever invites others towards Hidaya and deeds of goodness, Allah will give him
reward equal to those who did the good deeds.
May Allah Keep us on Haqq and Give us the Strength to follow the path of
RASOOLULLAH in Duniya and bless us by including us among those who will be
under the Flag of RASOOLULLAH in Aakhira.
